The reincarnation of the Holy Roman Catholic Church (of music) guides us into music-God’s graces, and does so as a panel of supreme judges, steeped in fame and industry, which either sends you to holy stardom or condemns you to self-doubting damnation. They are the direct link to music-God and only they can tell us if our musical hearts and souls are pure enough for heavenly stardom. The fortunate few who can pay for their ticket to heavenly-stardom, do so, and make it so that the heretic outcast musicians go out of business and of music-God’s favor. The bishops and cardinals of Internet-promotion and advertisements are witty and clever and cunning, dressed in fancy robes lined with gold and millions of ‘views’ to ooh and ahh us. They water down the music and bless you by pouring it over your head, so much your not sure if that catchy and very carefully constructed ‘hook’ stuck in your head will ever stop. Welcome, my son, welcome, to the machine. Once you’ve entered, Come a here dear boy, have a cigar, you’re gonna go far. Ain’t show business grand! I don’t need no judge to tell me I’m worth something, and neither did Kurt Cobain nor Dave f*&^ing Grohl.
